Your Agency window > Encounters > Pirate Strongholds tab will read: "A <Blood Raider Covenant or Guristas Pirates> Pirate stronghold was detected in the system. CONCORD is offering a significant payout to any pilots involved in eliminating it."

These strongholds are not available every day, but once they appear in a solar system, they typically stay for several days (until or unless destroyed by Capsuleers). While present, the rats associated with them will randomly attack player-owned citadels and structures, as well as vessels in space.

The rats associated with a pirate stronghold are slightly meaner and more crafty than the regular NPC rats. The pirate strongholds also deploy a mining fleet that can interfere with players mining in the system, because their miners will call in a response fleet from the stronghold if those mining ships are attacked by players.

The CoE has a set of ships available for Capsuleers to join in on a fleet our FCs will run to bring these strongholds down, securing that payout for participants. For these FOB fleets, we've developed a specific doctrine, as well as - one could call it a choreography - that works remarkably well. Leshaks and Praxis, plus Algos for both alpha and omega players will be made available at fleet time.

If you're interested in the FOB fleets, log into your CoE character on <aideron.org> & add the '@Pirate Strongholds' role for yourself. This will get you the pings in Discord when the FOB FCs announce and begin a fleet.

General Strategy

  1. Setup We fleet up, undock, check fits, ammo, resists and practice fleet coordination, if we have people unfamiliar with how fleets work.
  2. Bash (Battleships) 2.1 FC warps battleship wing to Pirate Stronghold 2.2 DPS battleships start attacking the station 2.3 Logi start the cap chain and repairs the fleet 2.4 Battleships use Cap Booster when their cap goes below 50%
  3. Bash (Destroyers) 3.1 Destroyers commander warps wing on FC order 3.2 Destroyers kill pirate frigates 3.3 Destroyers stay close to battleships and shoot the station 3.4 3.000.000 HP later FOB blows up
  4. Escape 4.1 Everybody recalls their drones 4.2 Destroyers make sure there are not enemy frigates present 4.3 Destroyers Wing warps out 4.4 Battleships align to the broadcasted align target 4.5 FC warps Battleship wing off 4.5.1 If something goes wrong, battleships should use MJD and warp off after MJD
  5. Payout 5.1 Everybody in the fleet who is present on the grid when FOB blows up gets 29mil. 5.2 The more alts you bring, the better. 5.3 Station usually drops Standup modules which goes to corp to pay for SRP, ammo and ships.
